ChatGPT Folders is a client-side Chrome extension that helps you organize your ChatGPT conversations into folders.
We do not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data.
Data We Access and Store
- On-device only:
- Folder names you create
- Mapping of chat IDs to folders
- A local cache of chat titles (as displayed in the ChatGPT sidebar)
- Storage mechanism:

What We Do Not Collect
- No account details or unique identifiers
- No conversation content or messages
- No browsing history
- No analytics, telemetry, or diagnostics

How Your Data Is Used
- Solely to persist your folder organization between sessions
- All processing occurs in your browser; nothing is sent to our servers or third parties
Data Sharing and Selling
Not shared with any third parties. Not sold, rented, or disclosed.
Data Retention and Deletion
- Data is retained locally until you remove it.
- How to delete:
- Uninstall the extension, or
- Clear your browser’s site/extension storage (this removes saved folders, chat mappings, and cached titles).
Security
Data remains on-device within Chrome’s extension storage. There is no remote storage or external transmission.
Children’s Privacy
This extension does not collect data from anyone, including children under 13. If you believe data has been collected in error, contact us using the details below.
